Breitling’s ultimate all-purpose sports watch, the Chronomat holds a pivotal place in the brand’s modern history. Introduced for Breitling’s centennial in 1984, at a time when quartz watches dominated, the Chronomat marked a bold return to mechanically driven watches.
Born from a collaboration with the beloved Italian aerobatic squadron – the Frecce Tricolori – when the team asked for an analog timepiece that could withstand the intensity of a jet cockpit, yet still look stylish enough to be worn to formal events, Breitling developed the “Chronograph Frecce Tricolori” which was the blueprint for the Chronomat which followed one year later.
Today, the latest models are ready for anything.
Chronomat B01 42
Available in stainless steel, 18ct rose gold, or in steel with a platinum bezel, the Breitling Chronomat B01 42 features an instantly recognisable bezel with its four raised rider tabs at the 15-minute markers. With a range of colourful dials, the Chronomat has a fully-integrated signature Rouleaux bracelet with micro adjustments on both sides of the clasp.
True to the original, the Chronomat is powered by the in-house Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01, a tried and tested COSC-certified chronograph movement with 6 o’clock date and a 70-hour power reserve.
The case is water resistant to 200m, making it ideal for every environment.
Chronomat B31 Automatic 40
The Chronomat B31 40 is powered by Breitling’s COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre B31, which was unveiled in 2025. With a weekend-proof 78-hour power reserve, 200m water resistance, and slim dimensions, it’s a time and date timepiece for every occasion.
Available in a range of colourful dials, the Chronomat B31 Automatic 40 has a full-integrated signature Rouleaux bracelet with on-the-fly adjustable links on both sides of the clasp.
Chronomat Automatic 36
The new Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 is made to suit a wide range of wrists. Powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 10, a Sellita-based automatic movement with 42-hour power reserve and 6 o’clock date, the model features various dial colours and executions with natural mother of pearl dials, and both stainless steel or gem-set bezels.
