Breitling’s ultimate all-purpose sports watch, the Chronomat holds a pivotal place in the brand’s modern history. Introduced for Breitling’s centennial in 1984, at a time when quartz watches dominated, it marked a bold return to mechanically driven watches.

Born from a collaboration with the beloved Italian aerobatic squadron – the Frecce Tricolori – when the team asked for an analog timepiece that could withstand the intensity of a jet cockpit, yet still look stylish enough to be worn to formal events, Breitling developed the “Chronograph Frecce Tricolori” which was the blueprint for the Chronomat which followed one year later.
